During the cooler months heating bills are expected to rise as we all try and keep our homes warm. However, if you run your ceiling fan in a clockwise direction (which is actually reversed) on a low setting, it’ll push the hot air down and keep it circulating within your home.
Your fan should already have a little switch which will allow you to change the blade rotation. Spinning counter clockwise produces cool air and when reversed (clockwise) warm air is pushed down into the room. This little adjustment can reduce your heating costs by 10%.
If your fan does not have a reverse switch, then ask your electrician to re-wire your fan so that it turns in the opposite direction. This is a quick and easy adjustment that can save you loads of cash.
